After a slew of movies on city-life and generation-x, a la "Life in a Metro", "Page 3", "Dev D", etc., "Wake Up Sid" comes as a much-needed breath of fresh air. I wouldn't like to describe the story here because I want you to discover it by yourself:
Here's some food for thought while you book your tickets:
Konkona Sen: In her best element - the homely, level-headed, independent, blunt, practical, confident, girl-next-doorsy, career woman. Will this seemingly intelligent woman make the same mistake that many girls make in love in a night of passion?
Sid Mehra: The lazy, irresponsible, light-headed spoilt-brat-son of a wealthy businessman. The sudden unexpected sequence of events in his life that confront him to either transform through self-discovery or brave the consequences on his male ego. Will Sid ever grow up and how? What defines growing up?
Sid's Punjabi Mom: The regular pompous and loud punjabi mom. Will she be able to give her son the necessary space and become a friend of his? Will she ever understand him?
Sid's Dad: The forebearing, angry and disappointed father. Will he disown his son forever? Will he ever be able to accept his son for his choice of an unconventional profession?
