The United States currently has more than 2200 children, as young as 13 years old, sentenced as adults to spend their entire lives in adult prisons with no possibility of parole.
How can this happen in a country that is known for human rights?
Do children have rights?
Apparently children are children until they commit an "adult" crime and instantly become adults in prison.
How can anyone say that it's impossible to rehabilitate a 13 year old?
The U.S. government currently permits this issue to remain under the laws of the individual States.
If children are to be sentenced as adults, then they should have all of the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of adults.
