Flames in the desert

Amman : Jordan | about 1 month ago
Views: 53

It happened in the deserts of North Jordan and could have been written off as science fiction or the handiwork of aliens – but, the sudden fire that engulfed and burnt to cinders a flock of sheep had a scientific background. It seems the ground below was saturated with methane gas and organic material released from a nearby waste treatment plant which caught fire when some locals set fire to the dried grass. The flock of sheep was grazing in the vicinity when the fire engulfed them and they burnt as their owners watched in dismay. The shocked shepherds presumed that a volcano had erupted and the end of the world had arrived.

It may have for them because they lost all they had and the moral of it is
don't set fires in the desert - else you may get burnt. 19/10/2009.
