Obama does deserve the peace prize, he gives the entire world hope for a peaceful unified future! His accomplishment is turning the world away from WW3 that Bush had us headed. Undoubtedly he can thank Bush and the mess he made out of US and world order for being awarded the Nobel Peace prize. I am sick of hearing he has accomplished nothing and it is too early. BS! The entire world feels hope with the exception of the Republicans who want him to fail at every time. They are angry!

I think that is fantastic not because of his accomplishments but because of his efforts to unite the world. It is a bit ironic for the President of a country fighting two wars to win the peace prize.

However if he can bring peace to the middle east and bring Afghanistan to a successful conclusion. This award will be a fitting tribute and a message to the entire world to cooperate with Obama. This is big! A peace prize for hope not accomplishments man are we desperate!

Now let's see what the world does with the foundation President Obama has laid! We lost any hope for the future because of Bush's war mongering and the world unifying to take the US on! The entire world now sees hope for the future once again. There may be peace yet! I have been listening to people laughing about Obama getting the prize saying he did nothing! It was mentioned that Reagan should have gotten it. Hell Reagan started the mess with his over spending and war mongering that Bush was following. Obama is the shining knight the entire world has been waiting for.

He gives us all hope for peace! Regardless of Politics we should all be proud of Obama as our leader getting one for the team for a change instead of taking one! Obama has already changed the direction os the US and the world. Under Bush in our future the entire world saw nothing but death destruction and WW3. Obama has set us on the course to world peace. It is up to th entire world which road they choose.

Nostradamus gabve us two roads to take into the future. Bush had us on the wrong road. The road to death destruction and a world shattering forever war. The entire world recognizes that under Obama he hit the cross roads and now has us on the right road. The road to a successful future or a chance of it. Obama has set the direction but it is up to the world which road we will travel. It is absolutely right that President Obama be recognized for the chance he has given us.

He is the right man at the right time to change and make History. It is up to all of us to take advantage of this opportunity let us not blow it! You know the awesome load he is carrying! He did this despite the Rerpublicans hoping and working for his failure the whole way. They are the loudest in saying he is not worthy of the award but he is. Republicans are the big losers. They have failed again and proved as party leadeers they are not worthy of calling themselves Americans. Just look at this! Analysis: Peace Prize Awarded Based on Achievement or Aspirations

"The entire world recognizes that under Obama he hit the cross roads and now has us on the right road."

I don't think so... not even the whole country believes that. Time to trade in those rose-colored glasses for a pair of Ray-bans.
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago
They have rose colored ray bans too! The worlds future is up to the world not Obama. It is up to all our leaders which road we take into the future or if there is to be one!

By that time, there will be no more middle class left in this country in any manner whatsoever. And if you are engaged in an expensive (in both lives and treasure) war on behalf of outsourced global companies and Israel for the British bankers profits most of all and Wall Streets (and that is what this war is all about at this point, after all), in order to do your Constitutional duty, rather than their will, you end it immediately in order to honor your oath of office.

Of which Obama apparently, as Bush, simply hasn't a clue.
Posted By Ross1776 Ross1776 | about 1 month ago
Baloney, and what a spin once again. There were gasps heard throughout the entire room when that was announced. And you don't faciitate peace through war, it doesn't work, nor is it Constitutional in our form of non-interventionism. It is not the U.S. job to policed the world, or bring about "world peace" which is a great ideal but man, being what he is, will always be at war under some dictator - and Obama is a dictator type president just as Bush was and has absolutely no reverence for our Constitution in any manner whatsoever.

And it is the United States and the protection of American (not Israel's) lives that are his primary responsibility. Not engaging in wars on Israel's behalf, or any other nation or "corporate" America's outsourced labor interests.

And he is the one who has mentioned Pakistan as also a problem.

Just where do you get your news, and from what source do you gain your information and your "opinions." Since the surprise of the masses in making this award to a first term president that has done nothing but continue the Bush policies defies description.

And it was Clinton that escalated tensions there. And he is on record as stating that he would walk on his knees for Israel.

Unbelieveable spin once again. And your propaganda and partisanship really is too much to believe. Since it appears you are really also a global socialist, just as Bush and Obama are. Both and two sides of the same coin.

What's Bush got to do with anything? Obama is the President, and merely because Bush was a lousy President shouldn't give Barry-O a free pass. It's currently Obama's responsibility. Thus far in his career, Obama hasn't set any standards... all he does is give speeches. He should have quit campaigning 9 months ago...

This is WHY WE HAVE TO PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS, ya'll!! If more of us stop bickering and start praying, this nation and this world would be better. I am sick of all the finger-pointing,accusing, lying, cheating, corner-cutting of our politicians too. And for the ones who have "no clue" about anything. Pray,pray,pray..pray that God can touch and transform their hearts and minds. Only HE can do it, ya'll. We can't do anything. We can argue all we want to but who are the ones who put our politicians in power in the FIRST PLACE? WE did. And for people who didn't, continue to pray.

Quite frankly, I think we're giving this Nobel prize too much credibility.

It's clearly a joke, awarded almost exclusively to marxists, communists, progressives, and terrorists over the past 30 years.

Those who have actually freed millions of people and fought for freedom and justice, need not apply.

Awarding it to Obama should have been fully expected. The man trashes America's exceptionalism at every turn.

And just as he saw his being elected as a “mandate” to "change" America to a Euro-like socialist cesspool, Obama sees this prize as a “mandate” to appease dictators and terrorists.

Yep... Eurocentrism is a big plus for Nobel Laureates... I'd be happy if he just spent a couple of weeks in his office actually doing some work...

Au contraire... He does have a clue.

Read his books. Delve into his background (Jeremiah Wright, Van Jones, Frank Marshall Davis, Bill Ayers, et al).

This is all part of his plan to "fundamentally change America."

Thanks for the GREAT article. I'm behind Obama 100 percent.
Posted By cutechic cutechic | about 1 month ago
Sorry, but your article is completely devoid of fact. You say that Obama turned us away from WWIII - well, what SPECIFICALLY has he done to accomplish that? I myself was unaware that we were anywhere near a WWIII, you'd think that would be something they would be talking about in the news, I'm sure I would have heard of that! Please, give me some FACTS, not just your emotions. We need more facts and less stupid emotion that leads us to made stupid statements that are not true. Sick of that. Saturday Night Live said it best last night, during Weekend Update, let's start giving awards out prematurely, like picking a high school kid to win the Heisman Trophy! That is exactly what you are saying when you say "if he can bring peace to the middle east and bring Afghanistan to a successful conclusion. This award will be . ." that is a direct quote from your article. IF and WILL BE are not giving an award based on anything someone has done.
I voted for Obama, so don't tell me I'm against him, nobody has bigger hopes of him succeeding than I do, but that does NOT mean he deserves this award.

lol! cutechick the fact is that you can't handle the facts. the Nobel Prize isn't always awarded to a person for a certain outcome. Sometimes it's given to a person for their contribution to further a particular idea to promote a certain outcome.

Woodrow Wilson was awarded the Nobel for the League of Nations and we all know how that turned out. Nelson Mandela was awarded the Nobel way before Apartheid was ended in South Africa and Al Gore received the award for his work on Global Warming even though the globe is still warming.

I think all American should be proud of our President for being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and try our best to support his lead while working together to promote a favorable outcome for all.

Thank you, AsherKade.. In the times that we are living in now, where nothing is certain,we all better be praying that God helps us because we CANNOT LOOK TO OUR LEADERS TO HELP US. I respect President Obama but I know in the end, he really and truly cannot save me from anything. God may use him to accomplish some things--and I pray that God does -but in this world, we shouldn't look towards our leaders to "save us". Yes, we all want better lives.Better jobs, better health care and better education for our kids.. don't look at our leaders for the answers, look to God alone. I believe that God allows certain things to happen to us but I'm tellin ya-- now more than EVER we better be praying.

there will always be a war if there are still idiots who loves to spill blood. its up to obama on how he can handle and make things better.

Sometimes when one is given the first prize before the exam has been written it is all that is needed to egg one on to try harder for what they believe in. I wish Obama all the luck in the world and hope that he is able to bring peace into all our lives.

Thanks everybody, very good!

April we can be thenkful Obama is no idiot nor is he the sole decider who would rather listen to his dog. Thank God he is gone but I don't know if his mess can be fixed.

Obama at least will not surround himself with people who agree with him but will give him good advice and he will listen weigh it and do what he thinks is best for the coun try not the party!
Posted By cutechic cutechic | about 1 month ago
So Airwolfk, your point is that the Nobel Peace Prize is given to those who don't deserve it, so that's why Obama deserves to not win it too? Isn't that exactly the point that I made? yes, it has been awarded before to people who did not earn it, Al Gore is a clear shining example that proved once and for all the Nobel Peace Prize has as much merit as a 1st Grade Spelling bee, and it's time it is looked upon with disdain and disregard. And, once again, as I figured I would be, I was completely ignored when I stated that I support the President and actually WANT him to succeed, I just don't think he deserved this "award" and it should not be touted as anything other than premature, at the very least. It is possible to support someone without believing they deserve everything they get. Really. Just because I want someone to succeed does not mean I am going to coddle them and tell them that their poop smells like roses, when it actually just smells like, poop. It takes away from your credibiility when you support EVERYTHING someone does that is without merit, then I know you are supporting with your emotions and not your intellect, and intellect is what we need to move this country in the right direction.
Also, my main point was that the article was devoid of fact, and I am STILL waiting for actual facts from the author about how exactly Obama avoided WWIII, and I cannot believe that every single reader of this article is not demanding the same information. Don't YOU want to know about WWIII? Don't you think that is vital information to provide on such a huge statement? Don't you think somebody who is willing to make outrageous claims ought to be able to support those claims? It's called CREDIBILITY.
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago

Whether or not WW3 is avoided is up to the countries of the world now not Bush. Obama has changed directions but it is up to the world to follow!

Obama led the movement that defeated GOP warmongers. What more could a politician do for peace?
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago
You got it Bud!
Posted By cutechic cutechic | about 1 month ago
What movement was that? What defeat was that? Do you mean the part where Obama is considering sending in even MORE troops to Afghanstan than George Bush did? Is that what you consider defeat of warmongering? What do you call it when a nation needs to defend itself? Were you calling it warmongering on September 12, 2001 when Bush attacked Afghanistan? I know for fact there is a 96% chance you were in favor of it. That's what the statistics of approval for Bush attacking were in 2001. So look in the mirror and call yourself a warmongerer
Reply By airwlf405 airwlf405 | about 1 month ago
Afghanistan was justified unlike the War in Iraq and now because of the incompetence of the Bush Administration Afghanistan is a mess and Bin Laden is still on the loose.

Obama is only trying to play the cards he was dealt the best he can, although the good news is that Bush got his revenge on Saddam and Cheney made quite a few more millions in his business ventures due to Iraq.
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago
Defending yourself is one thing starting an illegal war is another. Bush guaranteed a loss in Afghanistan because he mismanaged it for 8 years and concentrated on Iraq instead of Afghanistan now Obama has to fix that Bush mess too!
Posted By ladym33 ladym33 | about 1 month ago
I believe he has the potential, but I need to see results. I agree he deserves props for his efforts and his progress, but I don't know about a Nobel Peace prize. A sales person does not get paid for the efforts until they close the sale.
