Two dyed donkeys stand at zoo in Gaza City

How a donkey can double up as a zebra beats imagination but that is just what the Marah Land Zoo in Gaza City has succeeded in doing. In the zoo that does not have any zebra, some bright minds conjured up a solution, they have a substitute – paint stripes on a donkey and it becomes a zebra!!! A real zebra is a costly affair and would put back the owner by nearly US$40,000 – painting a donkey is certainly cheaper option. After all, kids who have never zebras before accept the painted donkey as a zebra. How they plan to keep the zebras from braying are not disclosed – probably they would put clamps on the mouths.

You know the economy is bad when the zoo paints donkeys because they can't afford zebras. Forget all the analysis the government does to determine a recession. That's unnecessary. All you have to do is look for painted donkeys at the zoo. That should be the official test.

As long as they are honest about what they really are. I heard the real zebras starved to death. I hope that does not happen to these donkeys.
