Is The Soloist Oscar Worthy????

As I really didn't know what movie to watch tonight, I was getting ready to look around I remembered thinking about the movie that I mostly thought was something that I really would love to see. The Soloist came into my mind, because I remembered watching the preview to the movie and thinking that probably Jamie Foxx did another oscar worthy movie, like he did in Ray.

I was saying that if back then I would of thought Jamie Foxx would have the power to show us talent other than his comedic side I would of never thought it could happen. After all most comedians really never transfer to the serious side of movies, and most of those fail or are not as talented for that side. So do I believe that the Soloist should be thought of when the Golden Globes and the Oscars come out I say I hope it does think of the movie. So here is my review, to an amazing movie and hope you enjoy it.

Plot: An L.A. Writter name Steve Lopez writes about the personal lifes of people in the L.A. Columns and he comes abotut finding a violinist player name Nathaniel Ayer who is an ex juliiard alumn living in the street with nothing but a shopping cart and a violin with two strings. He writes about him in his column and gets an amazing results, when he realizes that Nathaniel has talent he tries to help him become what he should of been before he went crazy.

Acting: Jamie Foxx plays Nathaniel Ayers. I believed that Jamie Foxx knows how to put his talent into heart. An amazing performance with him playing a homeless guy with mental issues. You could tell that he put his heart into his acting in this movie, because you felt it strong and made you love the character even more. The last time I felt like that with his movie it was Ray and that definately was an oscar worhty performance so if the oscars don't think about nominating him I think that they are crazy.

Robert Downey Jr. plays Steve Lopez and amazingly he did a great job. It's funny how far he has become from starting great then going downhill when he got arrested to going back up hill to a great career. Makes you forget about the old stuff don't you think. Is it Oscar worthy mix feelings. I mean he has it but I think he needs to put more his heart and soul to his characters to go to the top. I do believe he has the potential and really do feel that one day he can wow us but even though he didn't wow me. His performance was really good.

Special effects: I thought the scenes to the movie was perfect between the streets of L.A. the way you could see what Jamie Foxx's character felt made just the movie right.

I gave this movie an 8 out of 10 stars. Because even though the movie was well done it really didn't top my favorite choices. But this is one movie I wouldn't mind watching over and over again. This will be another one of those movies I would never forget and keep in my collection.
