We now take you close to the Dead Sea, the area in which the legendary cities Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed in ancient times. Too many religions and too many historical references state that this region was destroyed by fire and brimstone raining down upon the cities due to the cities being involved with homosexuality. The research that is done will truly see what steps led Sodom and Gomorrah to their demise, so that the communities throughout this earth do not copy what they did. There are six major flaws that caused these cities to be demolished quickly.
1. Pride. Swelling of the head always leads to future problems. Here is a quote from Flavius Josephus' Antiquities, Book I, Chapter 11: "About this time the Sodomites grew proud, on account of their riches and great wealth; they became unjust towards men, and impious towards God, insomuch that they did not call to mind the advantages they received from him: they hated strangers, and abused themselves with Sodomitical practices. God was therefore much displeased at them, and determined to punish them for their pride, and to overthrow their city, and to lay waste their country, until there should neither plant nor fruit grow out of it." Pride had caused for them to focus on themselves instead of upon the needs of others.
2. Greed. These two cities had an abundance of wealth and an abundance of food. In the previous quote, they had great wealth. In the book of Jasher, Chapter 18, verse 12, it talks about the land being filled with fountains that provided all of the resources that they needed. However, they loved plundering from others. In the rest of Chapter 18, it gives examples of how the entire city would steal from others.
3. Abundance of idleness. It is good to rest sometimes. However, it is not good to rest all of the time. Idleness will cause the mind to wander and will influence the people to do dumb stuff. For example, in Chapters 18 and 19 of the book of Jasher, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah would think up creative ways in which to do weird things. Every three months the city would have an orgy. The people of the city would lie in wait and prey upon travellers and merchants that came into their town. They would also torture visitors publically by either stretching or cutting off their limbs.
4. Lack of hospitality. They would not help the poor and the needy. Book of Jasher chapter 19, verse 8 states, "And when a poor man came to their land they would give him silver and gold, and cause a proclamation in the whole city not to give him a morsel of bread to eat, and if the stranger should remain there some days, and die from hunger, not having been able to obtain a morsel of bread, then at his death all the people of the city would come and take their silver and gold which they had given to him." Instead of helping others, they only looked to help themselves.
5. Exaltation of self. Pride that is not harnessed eventually leads to the exaltation of self. If someone within the city did not abide by their rules, they were executed mercilessly. Jasher Chapter 19 has two accounts of different types of executions that were absolutely senseless and too gross to write about; you have to read them for yourself. A telltale sign of man's exaltation of self is when women are disrespected.
6. The Tipping Point. The men of the city had become so cruel towards women that they no longer chose to have sex with them and selected to have sex with each other. Homosexuality is just a physical manifestation of narcissism. The first five steps led to this final step. Genetics could not have possibly caused every man in a city to commit homosexual acts. Every man in the city was homosexual. Here is a quote about this very fact from Josephus' account in the Antiquities, Chapter 11: "Now when the Sodomites saw the young men to be of beautiful countenances, and this to an extraordinary degree, and that they took up their lodgings with Lot, they resolved themselves to enjoy these beautiful boys by force and violence." The whole community of men wanted to have sex with men by choice, not because every person had a recessive trait of sugar in their tank. Homosexuality is not genetic. If homosexuality was genetic, then there would be a specific physical defect that would accompany that recessive trait. For example, with me being a dwarf, I have the recessive trait for height. Along with that recessive trait, the physical manifestation of my genetics only caused for me to be 4'7".
Alas, in the Book of Jubilees, Chapter 16, verses 5 and 6 give a stern warning to our present generation. "5. And in this month the Lord executed his judgments on Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Zeboim, and all the region of the Jordan, and He burned them with fire and brimstone, and destroyed them until this day, even as [lo] I have declared unto thee all their works, that they are wicked and sinners exceedingly, and that they defile themselves and commit fornication in their flesh, and work uncleanness on the earth. 6. And, in like manner, God will execute judgment on the places where they have done according to the uncleanness of the Sodomites, like unto the judgment of Sodom." The warning is that any civilization would definitely be destroyed if the culture of that particular community accepted homosexuality as the norm. The homosexuals of this era act exactly like the ones described living in Sodom and Gomorrah; they only care about themselves. The constant debate of same-sex marriages going on throughout the US proves how selfish homosexuals are; they only want same-sex marriages to be legal for the health benefits. Pride is what really destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
