Christopher Lloyd has been identified as the Dolton police officer that was seen applying the “face down take down” to 15 year old, 140 pound, Dolton student in a video making its rounds through the vaster wasteland.
The video shows Lloyd assaulting the teenager after what appears to be the teen disobeying the school dress code. Lloyd resigned (according to one source and was fired according to another) after the lawyer of the teen released the video showing the assault that occurred this past May.
But this is not the first time Lloyd has been in trouble for possible illegal activity.
The Chicago Tribune reported:
A lawsuit filed by his ex-wife, Nicole McKinney, last summer alleges he gunned down her new husband Cornel McKinney in front of their children outside their home on Feb. 17, 2008.
A Robbins police officer at the time, Lloyd was suspended after the shooting but eventually found work with Dolton police in January, his father said.
Though an autopsy shows he shot McKinney 24 times, the lawsuit alleges, he was not charged because Chicago police accepted his explanation that he had acted in self-defense.
24 times was self defense, he didn’t think 14 was enough, he had to shoot him ten more times after that. Doesn’t sound like self-defense to me, but what do I know. 24 time? How many bullets did his gun hold? Did he reload to shoot him some more?
Christopher Lloyd now is under arrest in Indiana for raping a Hammond resident in her home.
“According to Lake County, Ind., court documents, he held a pillow over the woman's face while sexually assaulting her Sept. 14 and had previously threatened her with a knife,” reported the Chicago Tribune.
I wonder if he put his cup of coffee down before he decided to assault the Hammond woman.
In defense of his actions concerning the beat down of the student that did not tuck in his shirt, the power tripping police officer said that he was just doing his job, that the student was a known “trouble maker”.
As opposed to him self, I guess.
I have a friend that used to teach in that school, the Academy for Learning in Dolton. It is nowhere near what an ideal school should be. There are fights there all the time, as there are in any other school. Now I wonder how many of those fights start with the police officers instead of the students.
To serve and protect dress codes by beating down teenagers that talk back, I don’t think that is a fair use of the authority given by the police department and the city.
Sadly Lloyd is not the first police officer to be a criminal and be given the authority to abuse his law enforcement powers, and he will not be the last.
The only reason you are finding out about this incident is because there is a video of it on the internet.
