PESHAWAR: At least forty-nine people, most of them were the school going children in a bus, were killed and one-hundred and sixty-two other injured when a car-bomb struck the populated business center of Savekarno chaock(squire) in Khyber Bazaar at Peshawar city on Friday morning, rescue workers said. The bomb, fitted with the car was parked at the roadside at the front of shops exploded with a big bang following by smoke and flames, eyewitness said. Forty-nine dead bodies, few of them were chard and broken and their identities were difficult, were sent to Peshawar’s hospital. A huge quantity of explosives was used in the explosion that damaged the buildings surrounding the Savekarno Chaock. Dozens of cars and buses were also destroyed in the attack. The bomb fitted car exploded when in the meantime a bus carrying school children was crossing nearby the car explosion. A local journalists working for “daily Jinnah Islamabad” Saeedullah Afridi was also among the injured who was admitted in Hayatabad Medical center in Peshawar, his brother said to this scribe. He was in his private car at the time of blast. It was the forth human lives taking blast in the last sixth months but the government was seen only claiming tall talks about the eradication of terrorism and extremism from the NWFP,experts says. According the statistical data ninty-nine percents of the killed persons in the bomb blasts and suicide attacks were innocents and civilians. The last three attacks have went in the account of Taliban as the claimed publicly in the media but the Friday bomb blast was not claimed so far by any organization or individual. Al-though,NWFP government spokesman Mian Iftikhar termed it the effect of ongoing military operation in FATA and Swat. He also alleged Talibans for the recent attack.
