KABUL: Afghanistan's interior ministry said Thursday that 12 people were killed and 83 others wounded in a suicide car bomb attack in the capital Kabul.
A huge car bomb explosion occurred outside Indian embassy nearing interior ministry office here in Kabul early on Thursday morning, which reportedly killed 12 people and left as many as 83 injured, Geo news quoted Arab media as saying.
The nationality of the victims has yet to be ascertained as the entire area is grappled with thick smoke, witnesses said
The explosion occurred at 8:30am on Thursday in the heart of the city, a place with the security of the highest standards, witnesses claimed, adding, more causalities have been feared by officials.
An Afghan police official is also among dead and a few more sustained injuries, claimed police officer, saying, rescue efforts are underway.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the fourth among the strings of explosions in Kabul since August this year.
