New Routine

Hey People,

My gyne appointment went well last week. I had the colposcopy and he said the lesion isn't as big as the last one I had. He did say it was unusual for it to come back after being clear for so many years and that it was probably due to my low immune system. I have been booked in for a Lletz procedure in November. I have to have an anesthetic which slightly concerns me as I know some people with ME/CFS have had bad reactions from them. However, I'm sure it won't be a problem and it has to be done anyway.
I'm not as good as I had been the last few weeks. I have a lot of joint pain and stiffness, stiff neck, pains at the base of my head and I've been getting lightheaded and dizzy. When I turn around I feel like I'm going to fall over. There is also something strange going on with my eyes, with focus and movement. My sleep is VERY disturbed. It's such an effort to stay asleep, it almost seems not worth it. Apart from all that, my energy is still pretty good and I'm in good spirits.
I've been trying to get myself into a new routine. I started a home study course in creative writing last January. When I say started I mean started... I only got to do the first unit and just haven't really felt up to it since. Anyway, I have started back this week and hope to continue to do this three mornings a week for an hour or so. I have two and a half years to finish it, so that's fine. I just hope to be relatively consistent with it. I also intend on starting back at photography too. I have also started back doing light yoga stretches daily. So far I've mainly been working on my spine as I'm having a lot of pain and stiffness with that. I will talk about yoga and the stretches I do in another post. I also mediate regularly. I have been meditating for the last eight years. I used to do it twice a day, but haven't been to good at sticking to that over the last year. I have always found meditating hugely beneficial.
Even though I have been on the candida diet and I eat healthy, I wanted to sit down and do out a new food plan so I can really be eating as healthily as possible. I have been referring back to a book I've had a few years now, but haven't used in a while. The author a nutritionist is Gillian McKeith and the book is called 'You are what you eat'. I think it is really good. For example she talks about how to read your tongue and what that can tell you about deficiencies and what you should eat to correct them. She even tells you what your stool can tell you about what is going on in your body. For example "Greasy stools that won't flush", show a liver imbalance, and so on... Other examples of things she talks about is signs of a tired bladder, excessive yawning, and the list goes on. I would really advise this book for anyone who is interested in improving the nutrients they are taking in.
I still have to work on my food plan, but I will discuss a little of what I'm making sure I'm taking in here.
Lots of greens - spinach, broccoli, mint, coriander, asparagus, green beans, cabbage. All of these are good for fighting off yeast problems.
Aloe vera juice - for two weeks of every month. This can be bought in a health shop and you put some into a two litre bottle of water and drink one of these every day for two weeks. Aloe vera has many benefits. It is great for detoxing and really good for the digestive system.
Garlic & Onions - Raw or slightly cooked. Garlic is great for overall health and the immune system. Both are great for yeast problems in the intestines.
Lots of oily fish - great source of Essential Fatty Acids which is good for the brain and memory.
Other sources of essential fatty acids - Nuts, Seeds, Seaweed. All of these are good for snacks. Dried seaweed is great to eat when you have a virus flare up.
Lentils - Adrenal glands and kidneys
Foods to nourish the tummy - Avocados, carrots (raw if you have yeast problems), brown rice, peppermint tea.
To avoid if you have joint problems - Tomatoes, potatoes, aubergines, peppers - these are known as night shades.
No Dairy - Soya milk instead of cows milk. The only thing I take is 2 probiotic yoghurt's a day, which is necessary for healthy intestines.
Red meat - Once a week only.
One really good thing that I found in the book that Dr. McKeith suggests for yeast problems is something you can get in health shops called 'Pau D'arco'. I bought the capsules which you can open and pour two into hot water - twice a day and drink as tea.
Ok people, that's all for now. I'm really tired...
I hope you're all keeping well...
Talk soon,
Treya : )
Please note that anything I have discussed is through my own research and what I have found to be true. I do not profess to be qualified in health or nutrition.
