Aburizal Bakrie led Golkar Party
Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Welfare affairs and one of the Indonesian richest man Aburizal Bakrie win the battle to lead the Indonesian second largest and former Indonesian ruling party for more than 30 years Golkar Party when he win the majority of votes against the only rival of Golkar Advisory Board Chairman Surya Paloh.
The vote of National Golkar Meeting was taken place in Pekanbaru city, Riau Province around 03.00 local times on Thursday, October 8, 2009. Aburizal Bakrie get 296 votes against Surya Paloh who get 240 votes. Meanwhile other two candidates Hutomo Mandala Putra (Tommy Soeharto) and Yuddy Chrisnandi get no votes. Hutomo Mandala Putra is the youngest son of late Indonesian President Soeharto.
‘’I says thanks to the former Indonesian Parliament chairman Agung Laksono and former Golkar chairman Akbar Tanjung, because both of them organize successfully to influence members of Golkar leaders to chose me as a newly Golkar chairman,’’ said Aburizal Bakrie in Press Conference in Pakanbaru on Thursday, a few minutes after he win the race.
One of the other reason why Aburizal Bakrie win the race, because his political consultants Fox Indonesia lead by Choel Mallarangeng and Rizal Mallarangeng who also have a major contribution to help Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to win Indonesian Presidential candidates race work efficiently and did the suitable strategic campaign to win the race.
