Saturn's small outer moon, Phoebe

NASA has discovered a new ring orbiting the 6th planet from the sun, Saturn. This ring is an elliptical montrosity that goes around the planet at a range from 3.7 million to 7.4 million miles. NASA reported that the Spitzer Space Telescope located this new ring. (I am not making up the name of the telescope! I do not know why it was named Spitzer, either. Probably, it was used by peeping toms in the past.) The new ring was recently located because the planet was observed with an infrared lens. The debris that makes up the ring was more than likely created by many meteorites hitting Phoebe, one of Saturn's moons. The moon also travels in the same orbit in which this ring is located. This ring is also interesting to look at because it also spins in the opposite direction of the other rings of Saturn.

curiously enough....how many does it really have or will we just keep on discovering more as technology advances?

NASA will continue to find more rings because meteorites continually bombard Saturn's moons, which cause the formation of more rings that stay in orbit around Saturn.

I read the story about the Saturn ring yesterday on CNN. They had a picure up that made Saturn look very small. I wonder it the ring touches the planets around it?
