Google targeted in e-mail scam .Google's web-based e-mail system, Gmail, has been targeted as part of an "industry-wide phishing scheme". .BBC News has seen two lists that detail more than 30,000 names and passwords from e-mail providers, including Yahoo and AOL, which were posted online. The lists also include details of thousands of Microsoft Hotmail users. Google said fewer than 500 of its accounts had been affected by the scam. Phishing involves using fake websites to lure people into revealing data such as bank account details or login names.

Like the saying goes; you can't trust no one these days. Just last night I was in the middle of my gmail account when all of a sudden I got a lock down. No fault of mine. My husband decided to do back up on a site that gmail doesn't approve of and is totally in violation of gmails policy. I am hoping sometime today to get my gmail account up and running again. I was reading on the forum in the help section of gmail that someone had to wait more then 24 hours. Ridiculous!

This is exactly why not one of my many email names, are my "real" name. In fact none are.. lol
I simply refuse to use my real name as an email addy name, identity theft alone, is a good enough reason for me not to and now this.

Several of my friends have asked how I get away without using my real name anywhere, its simple, the only place that needs my real name is shipping address labels and thats only if I am ordering something for myself, otherwise my real name means nothing at all to companies.

Protect yourselves at all times and never use your real name or resign into anything that asks, if it does, close out all your tabs, clear your history and go to the page again and sign in because chances are if they all of a sudden want you to sign in again, you're being phished.

It is about time that scam would be addressed appropriately.
