After the president of Pakistan validated and extended political parties act to the tribal areas (FATA) of Pakistan, the parliamentary constitutional reforms committee included the FATA reforms particularly extension of political parties act to FATA, tribal areas to make it part of the constitutional of Pakistan. According to preliminary media reports Pakistan Muslim League – N and –Q both respectively led by Mian Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhry Shujjats’ parties representatives in the constitutional reforms committee have refused to allow tribesmen to enjoy extension of political parties act in FATA or to let the other elected parties in Pakistan to include FATA reforms in constitution of Pakistan.

Tribal people, civil society and politico religious parties have struggled very hard for political, judicial and administrative reforms in the century old and decayed system of FCR in FATA for the last more than twenty years. Basically the tribesmen are naturally democracy lovers and believe in a civilized system to deal with them in a humanitarian way.

Ruling political parties in Pakistan and the dictators have always ignored this basic demand of the tribal people to allow them to enjoy their political and human rights under the constitution of Pakistan.FATA being a part of Pakistan has been kept out from the political and social arena to bring in into the main stream.

The credit goes to Peoples Party and president Asif Ali Zardari who announced basic reforms in FCR to bring FATA into the main national political stream. People’s party proved to be a nation wide party by extending political parties act to FATA, so that political parties could start their positive political activities in tribal areas. This was basically one of the old standing demands of the tribal peoples.

Now the so-called political parties known as Muslim League N and Q led by Nawaz Sharif and Shujjat have categorically denied to allow extension of political parties act into FATA or to make the reforms a part of constitution. This is totally a non-democratic decision of the two Muslim Leagues in the parliament, which shows that both enjoy the same nature to exploit the people of Pakistan especially the tribesmen to deprive them of their basic democratic and humanitarian rights.

The smaller parties in the reforms committee have reportedly protested against the negative mentality of the PML-N and PML-Q to deprive FATA from being the part of the national main stream. The representatives of the smaller parties have blasted over the hostile role of the main opposition parties in Pakistan to allow the century old decayed and undemocratic system in FATA to further flourish and take deepen roots.

PML-N and PML-Q are both representative parties of the Punjabi establishment which are bent on the exploitation of the other nationalities and population for the sake of their own vested interests and benefits to exploit them. If the tribesmen demand complete reforms in FATA system and want to play a role in the main stream of national politics then any party including the friendly opposition has no right to raise objections or conspire against the wishes of the tribal people.

The Western European countries, the US, the Pakistan army and the people themselves watch and observe the whole situation that whosoever try intentionally to push tribesmen to be more violent and extremists. If FATA reforms were not made part of constitution then it is certain that extremism and fanaticism would further flourish in tribal areas. Due to lack of check and balance system in FATA there in no check on the widespread corruption and misuse of powers by the political administration. Presently the tribesmen could not play any democratic role for peace and development. Even the FATA parliamentarians are gagged to speak on FATA issues, problems and legislation in the Senate or the National assembly. Though they are elected representatives of the people from FATA. The tribesmen want get rid off the old decayed system FCR by hook or by crook because they want to go ahead to d create peace and do something for development of the backward areas. Political parties particularly PML-N and Q are not interested in the resolution of the public problems as they are basically not democratic parties but leading the landlords, mafias and industrialists in Punjab. These two parties are not public parties because they have always been found silent on the main issues and problems of the poor people in Pakistan., particularly FATA.
