= NWFP Assembly to debate the presence of Black Water in NWFP through a adjournment motion which stated the presence of Black Water with the name of XE is threatening Pakistan’s internal security therefore government must constitute a committee to probe as to what was the basic aim of Black Water of acquiring various buildings in posh areas of the provincial capital and as to why they are acquiring land at other districts of the province. Dr Iqbal Din Fana, the MMA law maker moved the adjournment motion in the house on Monday stating that people’s concern was mounting as Black Water, the US security agency which operating with the name of XE, had started its activities in the provincial capital and had acquired various buildings at University Area and moving out of Peshawar. Quoting media reports, Dr Fana said the issue was very serious therefore government must keep vigilance over the activities of Black Water and restrict it. Why they have come to Peshawar and if any one acquired their services in major cities then why the US agency was moving out of the cities and reaching to out skirts of the provincial capital, the adjournment motion read out. Akram KhanAkram Khan Durrani supporting the motion said it was very critical issue therefore the house must discuss it and the assembly must constitute a committee which will investigate as to what was the aim of XE to acquire such large number of buildings in Peshawar. Sikandar Sherpao, the parliamentary leader of PPP (S) said the presence of Black Water as reported by media had increased the public worries and their concerns were very high therefore this issue must be discussed in the house therefore government should not oppose the admission of adjournment motion which drew attention of the house towards a very important issue. Denying the presence of Black Water in the province, Minister for law and parliamentary affairs Arshad Abdullah said federal government, foreign office and Prime Minister had categorically denied the presence of Black Water in Pakistan therefore it was irrelevant to raise the issue in NWFP assembly. If any one had any proof or identify the land which had been acquire by any foreign agency then government will come in action and will probe the matter but for time being all the statements regarding the presence of Black Water would be imaginary. Criticizing the role of JUI, the minister said he could not understand as to why JUI was sitting in central government when the party not accepts the statements issued by Prime Minister regarding Black Water. “They are part of the government which being head by Prime Minister if they not trust him then JUI should leave the government,” he remarked about JUI. However opposition insisted on the admission of adjournment motion saying the issue was concerning the country therefore government must not oppose debate on it.
Bashir AhmadBashir Ahmad Bilour, from the treasury benches complained they had not received copy of the adjournment motion but still they will not favor discussion of the issue in the house. Almost all the members stood up to their seats when speaker Kiramatullah Khan sought their approval and asked lawmakers to stand up so the assembly staff could count them. The house adopted the motion for debate with unanimous approval.
