Modern Sky Drops Artists

The Modern Sky Music Festival is set to go on October 4-7 in Beijing at Chaoyang Park. With less than a week before the festival, officials have dropped all acts that are not Chinese, 14 in all. The "official" reason for cancelling all but Chinese artists was unforeseen circumstances; however, in the wake of some artists expressing their personal opinions against China, the Chinese government has announced a crackdown on foreign artists.

Earlier this year Oasis was not allowed to perform after Noel Gallagher spoken out for a free Tibet.

Among the bands who were cancelled from the festival are the Buzzcocks, Radio 4, Regurgitator, British Sea Power, and The Futureheads.
