The Republican Health care plan:Die quickly!

Please watch his presentation! They may not want to hear it but Representative Grayson is entirely right. Let's cut to the chase! advocating staying with our current broken health care system which the insurance companies control whether you live or die or get coverage translates to die quickly and get out of our hair. Republicans love their bosses system where they control whether you live or die and if you are sick they limit how much care you get period.

No one period can deny that Republicans, Blue dogs, and their owners the insurance companies want to keep it that way. Die quickly can not be denied. It would not save them any money as they are not spending it. It would save them from the liability of their actions. They will not cover you if you are sick already and if you get sick they cape how much they will spend on you. This unequivocally means Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick. That can not be denied!

Republicans and Blue dogs work for the insurance companies not we the people! Why does the truth hurt? You do not apologize for the truth! Remember when Wilson lied and interrupted President Obama calling him a liar? He would not go on the floor and apologize for lying there is absolutely no need for Grayson to go on the floor and apologize for telling the truth.

Citing a Harvard University study released this month that said 44,000 Americans die each year because they have no health insurance I absolutely agree with Grayson that there is no excuse for this in America and he should not have apologized to Republicans for telling the truth. He was right saying he did apologize but he apologized to those that died and their families for failing to pass reform yet. He pointed out that 10 times more are allowed to die every year than have died in Iraq. Grayson stands by "Republicans want you to Die Quickly" statement and I agree 100%

Representative Grayson is entirely right but he should go one step further. He should be the one demanding an apology! He should demand an apology from Republicans, Blue dogs and all of Congress for doing nothing period for years. That said he should get back on the floor and demand an apology be given directly to the American people and then the next chance we get vote them all out!

In closing: Republicans have never wanted to do anything about improving our pro insurance industry health care system! They still insist every one in the country has health care and it is the best in the world. Is that our welfare system? We are on the bottom of the entire so called civilized world. and many are ending up there not only because they lost their jobs and can not pay their bills but because they are sick and can not get coverage. Thank Republicans, than the Blue dogs, thank their Bosses the Insurance companies. Apologize yeah right!

James, Repbulicans are the party of "no" and have made it clear they will rail against anything Obama wants to get accomplished. Blue Dog Democrats aren't much better, because they are from rural states heavy with conservatives and they want to keep their jobs.

When health care reform is up against the likes of Senator Demint, who said it would be Obama's "waterloo", and would bring him down if he failed at health care reform--the truth is pretty obvious. The Republicans are more concerned about causing Obama's reforms and policies to fail, than they are about what's best for the American people.

All the excuses about not wanting "bad health care reform" is just that-excuses and cop outs.

The Republicans are only the party of no, currently, because there is a Democrat in the White House, attempting to do a quick expensive fix on something that requires a bit more time and effort.

The Democrats have been the part of no during Republican administrations, so neither party has any real room to talk. It's just party politics as usual on both sides, stupid as it is...

firesisle, don't worry about the flagging slip. Allvoices has a pretty small tech team and won't go after anyone who hasn't blatantly breached the terms of use.

I did stop by your article and I did leave a comment.

Delilah, I accidentally flagged your reply, trying to reply to you myself; if anybody says anything, direct them to me. I'm sincerely apologize.

I understand and completely agree that it needs to be a priority, but it's like building a house; you can toss it up out of necessity, and have it topple in on you later, or you can do it the right way, the first time, and it will provide shelter for years to come.

We don't need a circus tent, we need a bomb shelter. I agree absolutely that the insurance companies are indeed a large part of the problem, but not the only part, nor necessarily the part that is causing the most problems.

Health care isn't one problem; it's a group of problems which are certainly related, but should be addressed separately, to provide more comprehensive and economical solutions.

The pharmaceutical industry one area that needs improvement; I addressed it in my article "A Single-Payer System That Might Work For US Health Care". I'd love you to read it and leave a comment.

Physicians are also complicating the problem with drug relabeling businesses; they relabel generic drugs under their own brand name, and then prescribe them for their patients, with a "dispense as written" box checked.

Tort reform is a must; there needs to be a reasonable ceiling on malpractice insurance awards. Where states have taken the lead in this area, malpractice insurance premiums for doctors have gone down; with hard ceilings on awards, there could also be hard ceilings on premiums.

Common private insurance practices, as you noted, need to be addressed, and things like the discrepancy between the cost of premiums to those between 18 and 45, as opposed to those between 45 and 60. Those who are between 45 and 60 have medical expenses 2.3 times the younger group, but are often charged up to 5 times as much. This could be easily addressed, again, with reasonable premium ceilings, rather than get the government involved in something that historically, they've been very bad at.

Allowing insurance companies to operate across state lines would also be beneficial, because it would create competition that isn't there now, and competition lowers consumer prices.

With those issues resolved, we're ready to address the last problem which is the uninsured. What is needed there is a safety blanket and minimum insurance package, underwritten by the government to provide coverage for those who can't afford it.

Meanwhile, how many millions of Americans are without health care insurance going into the flu season with the spectre of the swine invasion? The only winners is this quagmire are the insurance companies.
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago
Absolutely Jason I believe it too! They care about the insurance companies who buy their careers not the people!

That's just not true - and why there's been such a backlash. Calling for a more moderate bill that does NOT kill us with enormous debt and does not cover illegals and abortions is a far cry from wanting people to die quickly.

This is a perfect example of a spin. It's not a vast ring wing conspiracy - it's a vast left wing conspiracy.

Where are the demovrats on tort reform? Nowhere to be found - they are too up the ying yang of the lawyers. So, crying fould on a bad bill means you want someone TO DIE?

It's a bad bill and Grayson - who has done some pretty GOOD things as a freshman senator appears to be going a little TOO far with this latest story fashioned ideally for the youtube generation.

Speaking of capitalism - What's with Michael Moore shunning UNION contractors on his set? Could it be that Michael Moore embraces capitalism by subjecting the nation to his films that exploit some of the very things he does?

I think we all need to get a grip on this healthcare bill(s) and stop spewing nonsense on both sides.

Today I saw an ad with school children signing the pledge of allegience to the debt of the United States of America.

Hmmmm.... wonder were THAT idea came from.

Both sides are ridiculous.

"I think we all need to get a grip on this health care bill(s) and stop spewing nonsense on both sides."

Absolutely... but don't expect the author to respond; he's not long on explanations or discussion, preferring to pontificate rather than communicate...

Many conservatives are against the current health care bill because we feel there's a better way; it needs to be addressed surgically, to fix what's broke, but avoid throwing the baby out with the bath water. You can't just throw something this important together, especially since the economy us currently very fragile, and beyond lip service, the present administration hasn't showed any way to avoid an even bigger deficit if it passes.

It's funny, How the Congressman is taking a page out of their own playbook in a desperate attempt to sell a flawed healthcare Bill.

Remember it was Sarah Palin that shed light on the Democrats real intent for seniors, by exposing the "Death Panels".
It is people like Obama Health Advisor, Ezekiel Emanuel who has visions of placing a value on a life based on their personal health problems.
It's become a growing theme on the right: "Obamacare" will mean mandatory euthanasia for your grandmother in order to save money, and the person who created the ideological underpinnings for that policy is the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel

Ezekiel Emanuel, also known as "Doctor Death,"supports euthanasia and believes medical care should be reserved for non-disabled 'participating' members of society."

It is laughable and a sophomoric attempt to to bring back to life a Healthcare Bill that is flawed.

I really like what grayson is doing. It makes me laugh, and be afraid at the same time.

It seems like this is exactly the kind of hyperbolic statements that the reich, i mean right, loves to make and believe, with a straight face on. But the Republicans usually have a lie buried in there somewhere, in their hyperbolic statement. In Grayson's statement, unfortunatley for everyone, there is truth.

The Harvard study, now I don't know how the study was conducted, so I don't know just how accurate it will be, but even if the numbers are wrong by 50%, It is still a very high and very scary number.

It's makes me laugh when people bring up how Ezekiel Emanuel wants to ration off healthcare and supports euthanasia. Because he doesn't. It's teh funny cause it's not true type of situation.

The main spreader of that lie is Glenn Beck and his thugs at FOX News, and cronies in WorldNewsDaily and NewsMax. Just like most of their decepti-facts, this one to is false.

Just like the socalled health "czar" and how he support mandatory abortions and eugenics like parent planning. Another Decepti-fact.

Funny thing about Beck is, he first tells you all these Decpti-facts and then just when he's got you the most scared, he then says really quickly, I'm not saying he wants to kill everyone, but it should raise some eyebrows. And then he goes on to keep giving the same decpti-facts.

I think that anybody who sincerely believes that only Republicans, or only Democrats lie, is delusional...*lol* All politicians lie. All political parties are self-indulgent, and self-sustaining, and use the people who support them to further their own agenda. There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys..., just good liars, and better liars...

Paling exposed death panels what a joke. We have death panels right now and she will not expose them because it is the insurance companies who de4ecide who lives and dies and who is covered and they want to keep it that way that is the whole problem!

Another great spin from the Massachusetts global socialist set apparently. It isn't Republicans that want you to die quickly actually, it is the agnostics and athesists that run most of the insurance companies and the Federal Reserve bank front for the London central banks that want you to die quickly. As the Florida case proved in the Teri Schiavo matter, which was brought to set a Florida precedent (a state with a high number of wealthy retirees, mind you).

And Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are Democrats, or are you ignoring that fact? And the largest 'stakeholders' bar none in any federal program, since I am sure Warren Buffett is buying up discounted AIG stock now (due to that market manipulation for that London based insurer) since he has publicly stated that he wished to divert some of his massive assets into global health insurers and providers.

And what a lie, as it appears the "liberal" element continue. As I asked previously, so how much are you being paid Mr. Joiner, by the word or by the article, for such spins.

Or the bankers funding the telecom industries through the Murdoch holdings that would like nothing better also than a civil war in this country, so they can have wars on all fronts, and enough will then die they won't have to worry about insuring those boomers.

And appears you must be part of this overall socialist agenda, since you continue to use partisan politics on this when it is at all a partisan issue. It's a Constitutional one.
Posted By Ross1776 Ross1776 | about 1 month ago
And it appears you are one of those that is also easily misled by the mainstream and cable networks, which are also Wall Street benefactors, as are those anchors whose salaries are dependent on their propaganda and sensationalized journalistic styles for ratings, most of all.

Another of those "sheep" it appears with such a spin. My head is really quite literally reeling at this point.
Posted By Ross1776 Ross1776 | about 1 month ago
And just what is it that you actually do for a day job or living, other than acting as an agent for the government in its propaganda spins?

Ohio'medical malpractice premiums have really cooled once tort reform was passed. Legal filings against doctors here are down because the odds for Jackpot Justice have gotten longer. Caps on non-economic damages are a step forward, but we still need a filter to screen out cases from being filed against innocent doctors in the first place. This is not just an issue for doctors, but is one that patients should care deeply about. Do you want us to order medical tests to protect the public or to protect us? See www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com under Legal Quality category for some straight physician talk on this issue.

Hi MKirschMD
If you are an MD you already know caps by insurance companies should be lifted and caps be put on malpractice suits as they drive up everyones costs and make practice for many MD's prohibitive!
