With the African Cup of Nations 2010 just around the corner, the organizing committee announced that tickets for the soccer event will begin to go on sale starting November 20 of this year. The event will be held in Angola from January the 10th until January the 31st. The African Cup of Nations draw to determine which teams will be in which group will also be on November the 20th in the capitol of Luanda. Angola is one of the few thriving nations in Africa due to the fact that the brutal civil war that had been going on there for decades ended in 2002. Ever since then, democracy has caused the people to be revived, culminating with this big event next year. Therefore, there will be no threat of violence during the event. The construction for the four stadiums for the event will be completed this month. Here is the list of the stadiums and the capacity of each:
Luanda (capital): 50,000
Benguela: 35,000
Cabinda: 25,000
Lubango: 20,000
If you are planning for a vacation, then Angola would be a desirable destination during the winter month of January.
