The far right is angry and mad that President Obama will give a speech to the nation's students. These are the same folks who were perfectly fine with President Bush I giving a similar speech to children in 1991. Indeed, some of those who are so mad about Obama's speech were there as students for the speech by President Bush. The rightwing says yes, but Democrats objected at that time. This is true but Democrats objected based on the use of tax dollars not on the idea (as the right has with Obama) that he was going to indoctrinate them into some fringe agenda. (Personally I disagree with the objections of those democrats, it is important that children value education and a president can help inspire children in that venture.)
Democrats did not hate President Bush I (though of course some liberals did go to far in their hostility towards his son when he was president) but the far right not only loathes Obama they believe he should not be president. That is the genesis of the birther movement. The birther movement is built on a tantrum that Obama must have illegally become president because "real Americans" who like Sarah Palin would not support him.
So, when the majority of voters want Obama as president then those who support him (are to the far right at least) "traitors to America." After Obama gives his speech the far right will find something else to loathe about Obama and attack him with. They won't apologize about what they said, they will just say something even worse about something else. It doesn't matter. Obama could cure AIDS and the far right would say, why didn't he cure cancer in the same day? He could put a man on Mars and they would want to know why he didn't put a man on Pluto. Heck, it doesn't even matter that Obama is the president, any democrat they would loathe. They say they like moderate to conservative democratic Senator Joe Liebermann but if he was president you don't think there would not be a campaign to make him out as the worst human being since Josef Stalin or Mao?
Let's face it folks, the far right is back to John Bircher levels and maybe even farther then that in their hostility to our elected president. They even believe that the Obama adminstration is hyping the real danger of the Swine flu for support of his adminstration! For a group that for so long viewed dissent of the president as treason they sure changed their tune, haven't they? I don't think disagreement with Obama is unamerican or we have to support his policies, if you disagree with him, but can we have tone done the anger and dare I say, hatred of Obama? I know Bush II (at least the hostility against him involved an actual war) wasn't liked by the far left, but this is a whole new ballgame in hatred of a president.
