Indonesia seems to be the epitome of earthquakes. The nation has still not reeled from their earlier jolt that killed more than 200 people and now a 6.8 magnitude quake hit southern Sumatra on Thursday (0152 GMT). The earlier Pacific Tsunami warning Center said that earlier the quake was 7.6 magnitude.
With two earthquakes side by side causing 236 deaths reported so far and more than 500 injured the Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari expects casualities and damage of this quake to be much larger than that of 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake.
With bridges collapsed and phone lines cut off the nation seems to be in complete dismay.. Without any electricity many families plan to spend their nights outdoors scared of what the aftershocks might bring forth.
The Red Cross so far has reported that they are not sure of the exact numbers.
Casualties reported are 1100 now. Leaders from various nations paying their condolences to the Nation in crisis. Indonesians still dig out bodies after bodies to meet the unseen horror that has caused by this Earthquake.
