Researchers from Salem based Periyar University have found fossilized eggs of dinosaurs in the sands of Sendurai village of Tamil Nadu, South India. The eggs, in clusters of eight (and there are quite a few of them) date back to 65 million years. Naturally, there is excitement in the air. The eggs could belong to the Carnosaur which were aggressive and the Sauropod which were leaf eating vegetarians. The size of each egg was 13 to 20 centimeters on diameter and the nests around 1.25 meters long. The eggs would be sent to Germany for further research. Presence of dinosaurs in the region has been known for quite some time and the area has been cordoned off to prevent vandalism by locals and loss of important data and evidence.
