After six years as a baseball manager in Japan, former New York Mets skipper Bobby Valentine is returning to ESPN as an analyst. Valentine worked on the network's "Baseball Tonight" program back in 2003.

Valentine expects to be busy with ESPN, beginning with the League Championship Series and the World Series. Starting next year, he will also contribute to the new ESPNNewyork.com and work on ESPN-1050 Radio, which comes out of New York.

Reportedly, Valentine has "an out" in his contract - should a Major League managerial position present itself.

I am glad that he is back because he was very controversial in his first go-around with ESPN. Nobody likes controversy as much as me.
