Kate Plus Eight, Minus John

After weeks of bad ratings, TLC is taking a different direction. Starting in November, the show will be relaunched as Kate Plus Eight instead of Jon & Kate Plus 8.

TLC president Eileen O'Neil said in a statement, "Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family. The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kate's journey really resonates with our viewers."

The show will continue to focus on the eight Gosselin children, but now include a deeper focus on Kate's journey as a single mother. Jon will continue to appear on the series, but on a less regular basis.

"Kate Plus Eight" will premiere Nov. 2.

I thought the initial concept of the show was so cute on TLC. What is turned into is just another sad and pathetic look into the lives of people--some of whom are obviously more interested in themself than the good family that they created. That man deserved to lose his place on the show. No doubt about it. Least she won't have to worry about how to support the kids on her own now.

This show can't stay out of the headlines. It's unfortunate for Jon, but I guess it will be more entertaining to watch Kate handle those kids on her own. Plus, it's reality TV, so I guess they're focused on making things coordinate with reality.

Thank God they got rid of John! The man is an egotistical moron! The man craves the spot light and the only reason any woman wants him now is because cameras follow him around for some odd reason!

I've never watched the show, but they are all over the news a lot. I'm not impressed with how Jon handles himself when being interviewed, flaunting his new girlfriend he's so in love with. He talks awful about Kate, but she has grace and doesn't bad mouth Jon, which I think makes her look better.

There is tons of people out there with a big family what the deal. Just take them off the air. It is not like they are showing other peoples families on tv like that. They are just doing it because they are rich.

It seems everytime I turn on the TV, I see either Jon or Kate being interviewed and discussing their dirty laundry. What people will do to make money is amazing.
