Armed Opposition Groups Armed Attack in Laghman province

Received reports indicate that a large scale group of Armed Opposition members attacked an Afghan National Police Ceck Point with heavy weapons and small arms fire in the above-mentioned area. Afghan National Police at the Ceck points responded to the attackers by returning fire, but the Armed Opposition Group managed to overrun the Ceck points. As a result, an Afghan national Police ranger pickup truck was set on fire, 4 police were injured (1 seriously) and 3 went missing. Additionally, the Oposition group seized 2 PK machine guns and escaped the scene before national plice reinforcements arrived in the area. The injured police personal were transferred to the hospital for medical attention. As of this morning, 2 of missing polices returned to their duty station, while the third one is still missing.
