I saw this video of the extremely brutal lethal beating of Derrion Albert. When I see it just wonder what makes young boys become so out of control and lack all abilities to judge proportionality. The force used is really obscene and shocking in every sense of the word. I sit here contemplating who I should really for more sorry for - the victim or the mob-boys? In this situation I don't know. I just don't know.
A lot of gang mentality is the need to feel seen. This mentality so easily goes overboard into an out-of-control spiral of violence where during the heat of the moment i doubt anyone really understands that there are real people involved. Real human beings. Real flesh. Real blood. Real, ever so real death. I guess we are all crying for all parties... unfortunately. Because there are only victims here. Sadly. It would be easier if there weren't.
It is easier when you have someone to blame. When there is none? What do you do? I don't know.
