Ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has finished her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life," which her delighted publisher will have on the shelves in November for right-thinking Christmas shoppers.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is a fast writer, or perhaps has a fast ghostwriter.

Palin's book was announced just four months ago. She resigned as governor in July, and has gone to ground aside from delivering a speech last week to financial managers in Hong Kong.

"Gov. Palin has been unbelievably conscientious and hands-on, investing herself deeply and passionately in this project," Jonathan Burnham, publisher at Harper, told the Associated Press.

Harper is part of HarperCollins, a publishing firm owned by News Corp., the media empire of magnate Rupert Murdoch which also includes the Fox News Channel and the New York Post.

The official publication date for "Going Rogue" will be Nov. 17, with an anticipated printing of 1.5 million copies. "Going Rogue" will not be available as an e-book until Dec. 26, the day after Christmas.

Palin has worked with collaborator Lynn Vincent, features editor at World Magazine, an author of both fiction and non fiction books (she co-wrote "Donkey Cons: Sex, Crime and Corruption in the Democratic Party").

Palin has enjoyed a meteoric rise in politics.

The former Wasilla, Alaska, mayor was less than two years into her first term as governor when tapped by Sen. John McCain for the number two spot on Republicans' 2008 ticket.

Pailin has been the object of recent, critical profiles in Vanity Fair and GQ magazines, and her positive ratings have sagged in recent opinion polls.

But the former Alaska governor has remained a heroine to the Republican base, particularly its social conservatives.

I can't think of a book I am less interested in than this one. Palin has nothing whatever to say, and now she's gotten someone who knows English to write a book for her to say it in. Who cares? She's a money-grubbing zero.
