Punjab government has filed petition in Lahore High Court (LHC) requesting to defer the bye-polls in the province. A privat TV reported, Khuwaja Haris and Mustafa Ramday filed petition in LHC, on behalf of Punjab government, pleading that the law and order situation is not in the favour of by-polls in Punjab and that Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) did not consult the provisional government in this regard.
