iran tests multi missile launching system

Iran has tested a multi-missile launching system in a military drill on Sunday. According to Iran’s PressTV Islamic Revolution Guards Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the system is capable of launching several home made Zelzal rockets simultaneously. He added that it has been tested for the first time. In addition to this, a number of missiles including a short-range ground-to-ground missile Fateh-110, and a short-range naval missile Tondar-69 were also launched consecutively. He said, medium range Shahab-2 missiles would be tested tonight while long-range Shahab missile will be fired tomorrow.
AIR correspondent Dhirendra Ojha reports from Dubai that the military exercise is taking place just few days ahead of October first meeting between P5+1 and Iran in Geneva.
Iran claims, the exercise named ‘The Great Prophet IV’ is being carried out to improve the defence capabilities but analysts say that the tests are likely to further increase tensions between Iran and the West over Tehran's nuclear ambitions. The latest missile exercise also comes two days after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran is building a second uranium enrichment plant, triggering condemnation from Western leaders.
Western intelligence officials have charged Iran with developing a nuclear weapons program while Iran maintains it is developing a nuclear program for energy only.
