Paul Bradfield, 38, a father of four died in his attempt to walk for charity on the Kokoda track in Papua, New Guinea – he wanted to raise money for treatment of his youngest daughter Haidee who is fighting leukaemia. He was one of 16 persons who were participating and had practiced for the past six months. Reports suggest that he died due to breathing problems that he experienced in his sleep in his hotel. The particular Kokoda track is nearly 100 kilometers long, has a steep gradient, was used extensively in the World War II and is single track. There have been two earlier deaths earlier this year of people while walking on this track.
