Former "Friends" star Courteney Cox Arquette makes her leading lady network TV return on ABC's new comedy "Cougar Town," playing a 40-something woman with an eye for younger men.
We're not sure if Arquette is a Method actress, but if she is, she's gonna kill it in this role -- the 45-year-old says, "I've been blazing that trail for years. I think it's great."
Arquette's "prey," of course, is actor David Arquette, her 38-year-old husband of ten years.
On-screen older woman / younger man pairings have been a fairly common sight on TV in recent years (Samantha Jones, anyone?), but the Fall '09 television line-up features a well, um, virtual cougar's den, with the trend popping up on programs from "Melrose Place" to "Eastwick."
