TEHAN, IRAN—In a defiant tone, the nuclear chief of Iran, said that his country “pre-empted a conspiracy” by the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, by reporting the construction of a nuclear enrichment facility on Monday.
Under pressure from President Obama and other allies, including Russia and China, Iran capitulated late Saturday. No time frame was given by Ali Akbar Salehi, when he announced that members of the International Atomic and Energy Agency would be allowed to inspect the partially constructed underground facility located near the holy city of Qom.
Three government agencies from the US, France, and Britain, had been covertly investigating the planning and construction of the secret facility for over a year.
Iran recently learned of the discovery by the West and sent a hastily formulated letter to the international nuclear agency, so it could claim a “voluntary” notification.
On Friday, Iran accused the United States of using “forged documents” and deception to build its covert case on the existence of the undeclared uranium enrichment facility that will house 3000 centrifuges.
An interesting accusation coming from a country that has been called on the international carpet for the duplicitous and secretive actions of its own government.
“My offer of a serious, meaningful dialogue to resolve this issue remains open," Obama said on his Saturday morning radio program. "But Iran must now cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and take action to demonstrate its peaceful intentions."
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, maintained that Iran did nothing wrong and that President Obama would regret his statements.
Recently, there have been violent protests over a fraudulent election that kept President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in power. Ahmadinejad is a delusional man, who has adamantly maintained the holocaust never happened.
According to Ahmedinejad, the plant won’t be operational for 18 months. But President Obama will be meeting with major allies next week to discuss the Iranian situation and has vowed to hold them accountable.
Iran’s deceitful actions have brought the world’s allies together in a historic show of solidarity. The peace and stability of the world is at stake and it will not be taken lightly.
