The Principal of the NJ School Will NOT Apologize for the Song Praising Obama

“The principal of a New Jersey elementary school where young students were videotaped singing the praises of President Obama is making no apologies for the videotape and says she would allow the performance again if she could, according to parents who spoke with her Thursday night,” Fox News is reporting.

“Parent Jim Angelillo said” Dr. Denise King, the principal of B. Bernice Elementary School, “told him the lesson was merely part of Black History month, and not an attempt to indoctrinate students, as critics have charged.”

Fox News goes on to illustrate their hate mongering by claiming that B. Bernice Elementary school is some sort of brain washing camp, because the teacher and principal there talk about and post pictures of the current President.

A practice that is done across many, many, many schools across the nation for a very longtime. It was done when Reagan was in office, Bush Sr., Bill Clinton, Bush Jr. and now Obama, but Fox News never criticized any of the other President’s pictures before this instance.

Fox News should read a little Huffington Post:

“Back in 2006 children from Gulf Coast states serenaded First Lady Laura Bush with a song praising the President, Congress, and Federal Emergency Management Agency for their response to -- of all things -- Hurricane Katrina. The lyrics were as follow:

“Our country's stood beside us People have sent us aid. Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade. Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!

“The event took place at that year's White House Easter Egg Roll and included roughly 100 children from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.”

Fox News and the humongous conservative media movement have been beating the ridiculous claims of indoctrination for a long time now.

They like to forget that one of their own was praised also and for something he had failed miserably on, of all things. Not one Democrat or liberal made a fuss, not one liberal or Democrat yelled wolf.

But we all know Republicans are not Democrats. Democrats have a respect for the Presidency that the Republicans just do not. Republicans believe that only a Republican President is to be respected, as can be seen by the actions of their hero Joe “You Lie” Wilson, someone that has screamed wolf many times in his career.

This is another embarrassment for anyone that supports the ridiculous claim that Obama is trying to indoctrinate children. You should be embarrassed, but why do I think you are not. You should be embarrassed by your baseless hatred of Obama but I am sure you are proud to be the idiotic tea partier that you are.

“mmm, mmm, mm”, “hip hip hooray” were a couple of things that the “should be embarrassed” are complaining about. Along with that are lyrics that praise Obama’s achievements as a black man, and Obama’s achievement based on equality. These lyrics that were meant to be for Black History Month, are not indoctrination.

Fox News and the conservatives are now trying to make the principal of the school their next target. A black principal that is supporting activities for Black History Month, claiming that she is a “fan” of Obama’s and is responsible for this song to have been presented as part of the activities of Black History Month.

Why does the right then wonder why the left calls them racist, when you ignore the children singing praises of the white W. and get your conservative panties in a bunch over the singing praises of the black Obama for Black History Month?

And then when it is pointed out that you (the conservatives are wrong once again) you do not come out against such ridiculous accusations, but try to find a way to be right. But you can’t be right, when you are wrong.

Fox News reported, “In November, the 9,700-plus residents of Burlington, N.J., a Philadelphia suburb, voted overwhelming for Obama, who received 3,285 votes to Sen. John McCain's 1,308.”

Could it be that most parents in this school district don’t care that a black President was praised for his achievement during Black History Month?

Could it be then that all the conservatives of the rest of the nation need to mind their business and let the local government deal with it?

Could it be that the conservatives are just being their usual Hippocratic self?

Could it be that this accusation, like most of their accusations, is another attempt to see just what they can get away with in respects to spreading their “Hate Obama” agenda?

The principal should be required to sing praises to any Republican president as his punishment so he knows how inappropriate his actions were.

And why exactly are her actions inappropriate?

Both parties play the same political games. Both parties suck.

normally i would just agree with you and not respond but I think in this circumstance it is the Republicans that "suck".

My reason being that children sang a song praising W...no Democrats at all that opposed it, no one thought it as being fascistic. And the song was praising his response to Katrina of all things and no one opposed it. No one equated him to Hitler or Stalin. No one got the story to play every thirty minutes on a 24 hour news channel. It was a non-news item.

SO why the uproar now, with Obama? And my answer to it, my opinion that is, is because his middle name is Hussein and it sounds scary to AMerican ears.

There is a sense of recklessness permeating throughout our society ever since Barack Obama was elected President. It seems that this has given license to people to break the laws and push the boundaries of unacceptable behavior.
This incident is another example of that. These are Public schools and therefore educators have to exercise better judgement as to wht is presented to their students for consumption.
The fact that the song contained references to policy issues, should have been a red flag right away. "Equal pay for Everyone" should not be part of any song being taught to our students.

Liberals are always up in arms when religious references are made or prayers are observed in the classroom. Stands to reason that this sort of behavior stays outside the walls of our classrooms.

Red, Obama is no religious figure, so there is no religion problem here.

As far as equal pay for equal work, it is based on the fact that Obama got a law passed that says equal pay for women in the work place for the same job as the men.

The theme of the song is equality and unity, it would make sense that this equal pay for men and women would be part of that. It isn't some socialist thing. Just like race shouldn't matter, gender shouldn't matter. It's not a matter of policy that was being sung it was a matter of morality and equality. And the themes of equality and unity are perfectly fine to sing about if the song is for Black History Month, considering that most of American history concerning the black population has been spent getting equal treatment and unity with the rest of the population.

It's a moral issue way way way before it is ever a policy issue.

"There is a sense of recklessness permeating throughout our society ever since Barack Obama was elected President. It seems that this has given license to people to break the laws and push the boundaries of unacceptable behavior."

What laws are you talking about? What law was broken here? As far as pushing the boundaries, what boundaries?

This is perfectly acceptable behavior, or at least it was until Obama became President.

No one objected to the song that praised W. and FEMA for their actions post Katrina.

There is no law or boundary broken or crossed.

Should not be allowed.

Teach our kids how to read and write, let the parents worry about teaching them moral issues.
Reply By amalgam80 amalgam80 | about 1 month ago
Why? Just because you said so? Don't teach children any morals in school? Are you serious? That's just stupid. Then why do you want God in school, if you don't want morals to be taught?

It seems to me that you have no argument anymore and now you just want to be right. If you want no morals in school then you add another reason to why God should stay outside of schools. And I don't think you believe that.

Sharing, equality, unity, understanding, love, kindness, honesty, you want all those things to not be allowed in school?

No disrespect here, but that stance is just plain stupid. And I don't believe you actually believe that, so I'm just going to think you said that so that you can sound like you are correct defending your own views, even though your view is completely incorrect.

You still haven't objected to the praising of W.

If you are against the song sung about Obama, then you must be against the song sung for W. too. Are you?
