I've been watching the Senate Finance Committee working on the health care bill this past week. They all talk about bi-partisanship. Forget about it. When they take a vote, you know exactly how it is going to go. Right down party lines. I was getting ready to turn it off on Friday as they were debating requiring insurance companies to cover maternity care. Then I heard Senator Jon Kyl, R-Arizona say, "I don't need maternity care." I wondered what was he thinking? I wondered, is he thinking? I only know he was serious. Hopefully, he was brought back (as close as he can get) to reality when Senator Debbie Stabenow, D-Michigan responded, "I think your mom probably did." So there's still hope.

Yep. She put him in his place. But I'm not sure he knows it. She's a very good senator.

I still don't know why Arizona keeps voting Sen. John Kyl into office. He just rides the coat tails of Sen. John McCain.
