These adorable dwarf mongooses are the smallest carnivores in Africa, Asia and other countries. They are social creatures that live in groups of two to thirty in dry grassland, brushland and mountain scrub.
The dominate female is usually the leader of the group. All members cooperate in helping to rear the babies and guard the group from predators.
Most of their day is spent looking for food among brush, leaves and rocks. They diet mostly on insects with small vertebrates, eggs, and fruit.
