The 2009 edition of the Fall television line up has not even completed and already one show has been cancelled, with a few others already in danger.
The CW Network who has consistently had trouble pumping out hit shows gives the first show of the season its walking papers. The model industry drama "The Beautiful Life", which was produced by Ashton Kutcher, was cancelled after only two episodes aired. The show followed "America's Top Model" and only had one million viewers for the second episode. ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX began their fall premiere episodes a week later than CW did.
"The Beautiful Life" joins "Viva Laughlin" and "South of Sunset" who were also cancelled after only two episodes aired; however there are a few series that never made it past the first episode - "Emily's Reasons Why Not", "Co-ed Fever", and "Public Morals".
Other series who may find themselves in television viewer limbo are "Parks and Recreation and "Accidentally on Purpose". The reality dance show popular over the summer "So You Think You Can Dance" is also seeing its viewership down but the show is still in the audition stage with the real competition yet to come.
