A recent study by researchers has found evidence that prooves that a thin layer of water can be found covering the surface of the moon in some locations. This is a huge discovery as it prooves that there is much more water on the moon than had previously been thought.
For years the moon has taken a back seat to other cellestrial explorations and concerns but is now becoming the focus of many scientists. A source of water may seem like a small discovery but is infact a giant leap towards possible colonization of our closest planetary neighbor and will "forever change how we look at the moon," according to scientist Rodger Clark of the U.S. Geological Survey.
Some scientist believe that there is more water in space than we realize. It is already known that there is ice on Mars as well as the moons of Saturn and Jupiter. Supporters of space research hope that these discoveries will prompt the White House to reset its sights on the moon and continue the Bush Administrations former plans of returning to the moon by the year 2020.
