The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for successfully placing seven satellites in Earth orbit today, after the launch of PSLV C14.

The President has said ISRO’s capabilities have once again been highlighted through this launch and the placement of these satellites in safe Earth orbit. The President has said she is confident that Oceansat-2 will provide valuable data on the climate, as the satellite studies the interaction between the oceans and the atmosphere. The Vice-President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari has congratulated our space scientists and all those associated with the successful launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C14. He personally witnessed the launch at Sriharikota. In his message, he said that our Space scientists have done the nation proud by this launch that carried three satellites, including the 956 kg OCEANSAT -2 Satellite.

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has congratulated the ISRO team for the successful launch of Oceansat-2 Satellite. In his message he said:

“I am delighted to learn that the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C14 (PSLV-C14) launched today from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota has successfully launched India’s OCEANSAT-2 satellite and six nano satellites from European Universities and agencies. PSLV has once again demonstrated its versatility and reliability through this fifteenth successful launch in a row. The OCEANSAT-2 satellite will herald a new beginning in our understanding of the oceans.

I congratulate the entire ISRO team responsible for this achievement, and wish ISRO continued success in future missions.”
