Unrequited Love

Have you ever desired someone who is not remotely interested in you? This person of your "hearts desire" has told you in no uncertain words that you will never be more than friends. The situation is worsened when you resign yourself to be the very best friend this person has ever had while you wait in the wings hoping this person will change their mind or you will just "get over it". You do all kinds of sweet little things like send birthday gifts, offer to help clean their yard, praying this person will see that you could be a good companion and if nothing else handy around the house. While you are trying so hard to impress this person, you fall "in like" and realize that you like this person as a true friend only making you desire them more. Your mind then starts playing tricks on you, letting you believe there is some hidden message in comments such as "you are so sweet" and "I really like you". You begin to think it’s just a matter of time before you kiss and fall in love but the kiss and fall in love part never happens. All of that pent up desire begin to frustrate you. On different days during the week you give up and move on, then the person calls or send you an email and once again you are right back on that hell ride leading to nowhere near the "tunnel of love". You wish you could tell both your heart and mind to just forget it but the insanity of the hopeless situation will not allow your mind to listen and your heart does not have ears. If you don't turn into a stalker and get arrested, you eventually go on with your life. Maybe you get married and have some kids, while you still secretly hope that one day.... JUST GET OVER IT!
