People of Taiwan held a novel protest – they took to the streets of Taipei wearing pyjamas. The protest was against the mismanagement of the recent typhoon Morakot by the Government of President Ma Ying-jeou in which as many as 600 persons lost their lives. The protesters wanted to draw the attention to their miserable plight and termed the Government as ‘brain-dead government’ and the pyjamas were symbolic of their incompetence. The approval rating of President Ma has already taken a beating – it is now reported to be in the region of 14%.
