I never saw the Emi Awards because when it came on TV my wife snatched the
remote control and changed the channel. I took a book to read because she
wouldn't let me see the awards. 22/9/2009.

In that case you need a second tv in a different room so you can watch what you want, that is how I solved the same problem in my house.
