The toll in a suicide blast in northwest Pakistan on Friday mounted to 39 as six more bodies were recovered, media reports said.According to Kohat police, 150 kg of explosives were exploded by a bomber who rammed his explosives-filled vehicle in roadside markets in Kohat district Friday, leaving at least 39 people dead and 54 injured, GEO News TV channel reported. An investigation team has been constituted to probe the attack. Police sources said a white-coloured jeep was used in the suicide blast.

An extremist group calling itself "Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Alami" has claimed responsibility for the attack, a police officer said.

A spokesman for the group phoned media organisations that the attack was revenge of the killing of a cleric Maulana Amin, who was killed in an air strike by the Pakistani forces a few months ago.
