Good habits guarantee a long life

This is an interesting study - it is actually what all of us know but, since it has been declared by specialists, we assign greater weightage to the finding. Stop smoking, give up drinks and add years to your lives – do the opposite and you are taking away precious years. This reduction could be as much as a decade. The study was carried out by researchers of the Oxford University on data of 1960s held for over 19,000 male civil servants when they were aged between 40 and 69. The data was compared in 1997 against data of the 7000 odd persons who are still surviving and re-evaluated. The final result proves the maxim that good habits help to achieve a long life.
