He deserves a medal

Slow and steady wins the race is a favorite proverb and brings to mind the race between the rabbit and the tortoise. A tortoise has proved it in real life – he deserves a medal. He is not the Mock Turtle of Alice in Wonderland fame but has done what no other tortoise would have ever contemplated. Success tastes so much better when one achieves a milestone like the one that this tortoise did. It crossed the N-25 Freeway of London without getting crushed under the wheels of speeding vehicles. In fact, it had crossed all of the five lanes without any mishap with vehicles roaring around it at 70 mph. It was rescued by a passing motorist and sent to the care of the vets. It is a Hermann’s tortoise presumed to be around 10 years old – it was micro chipped in America. Hence was traveling on the wrong side of the road
