CERES, Calif. -- Police in Ceres said a Walmart greeter was assaulted by men stealing a large flat-screen TV on Tuesday.

Police responded to the Walmart at 1670 Mitchell Road, in Ceres, at about 10:30 p.m.

When they arrived to the scene, officers said they found a 76-year-old employee with injuries to his hands and arms. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officers were able to obtain video footage from the store security cameras that show a man and woman adult leaving the store with the TV in a shopping cart. When the Walmart employee asked to see a sales receipt, police said the pair walked past him out of the store.

As the two reached the parking lot, police said a third unknown suspect in a waiting light-colored van met them in front of the store. Police said that's when the man attacked the Walmart employee.

The pair then raced to the van, put the television in the van and left the parking lot onto Mitchell Road, police said.

The suspects are described as a light-skinned Hispanic man with a shaved head and tattoos over both eyes and a Hispanic woman, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 250 pounds with dark hair.
