Poor And The Homeless, or PATH, of Tehama County, is holding their "Annie B's Community Drive" for the North Valley Community Foundation. I know in today's tough economic times many foundations are asking for a little more help and, now more than ever, they truly do. With revenues declining and reduced government spending, the demand for services is increasing with more people losing their jobs and their homes. Families are at particular risk and it is times like these that we should try to help each other and face an uncertain future together.
The NVCF is committed to raising $100,000 this year to local non-profit agencies between August 1st and September 30th. All monies raised by PATH supporters through Annie B's Community Drive will go to PATH plus a percentage of the matched funds. Over the past two years, the NVCF has distributed $2 million dollars to non-profit organizations and charitable causes in the Butte, Glenn, Tehama and Colusa counties. Families and friends, if there is anything that you can contribute to this desperately needed effort, please don't hesitate to send in a donation.
There are many ways you can help make a difference in your life and make it mean something to you. Pass a jar around at work, enlist your schoolmates to donate at least one quarter or $1 if possible. If you're selling an item, consider giving it to the NVCF and take a tax deduction. Anything you put your mind to and can achieve would be a miracle to families and people who can't afford much. The philanthropic practices of the NVCF can make someone's life a bit better in the long-run.
If you can help with this noble cause of the truly needy families and individuals hurt by this recession, send your check (written out to "Annie B's/PATH") to North Valley Community Foundation, 3120 Cohasset Road, Suite 8, Chico, California 95973. Online you can go to www.nvcf.org and contribute by credit card. They also accept gifts of stocks, equities, real estate or other personal property of value.
Kingspirit Entertainment, my online media company, will contribute whatever monies it collects from now until September 27th; on the 28th a check will be forwarded to the NVCF and I will reveal how much we raised. Let's get together and do something worthwhile for the people here in Tehama County!
