Allan Watts, a PhD of divinity has inspired thousands of aspiring students of philosophy. Including myself, Watts portrayed a way of life in which will give the answer to any conundrum in One’s life. The answer is simply, “hold know moment other than this, perceive all dualism as unreal don’t dwell on past experiences, or premeditate future events simply be content in the now.” Most people might ask themselves, how could such peace be attainable in One’s daily life considering, the fast pace society we live in.
He breaks down what appears to me to be the emphasis of all religion. He merely says there is nothing that is not God; A few illustrations of this relationship are A. God is the beginning and the end Christianity B. Tao is nothing and everything Taoism C. refer to any other religious text it will be relevant. However Watts does not believe in worshiping any sort of deities. To him god is a universal equilibrium in his eyes the notion of capturing the beauty of the divine in a book, is like trying to capture a river in a bucket.
This man has significantly influenced my perception in relation to spirituality. I really enjoy his books, “prior to Allan’s Books I had read dozens of books pertaining to philosophy and spirituality and never felt as intellectually fulfilled”.
