Out of all of the four cities vying for the 2016 Olympics, Rio de Janiero, Brazil would be the ideal spot. I will list all of the advantages for you.

1. The Olympics have never been in South America. This oversight needs to no longer continue.

2. The people in Rio actually want the Olympics. 85% of the people want the Olympics to be there in 2016. People in Rio need jobs. Have you ever seen the favelas in Rio and all throughout Brazil? Their neighborhoods are horrible. This bid would allow people in Rio to now have stable income by building new stadiums and venues.

3. Out of the four cities, Rio would have the cheapest ticket prices. The way that the economy is going, that would help out all of the tourists that would go to the Olympic Games.

4. Wouldn't you want to go to Rio? I have never been there, but I have never heard of anyone saying that they hated their vacation in Rio. This would be a great excuse to travel to Rio.

5. The Olympic festivities would be like Carnivale on steroids. Some people just go to the Olympics to have sex. This city would be the ideal spot.

I would just like to go to Rio. Can they afford it though? Some of the numbers we are hearing here in Illinois about what it will cost Chicago are rediculas. With all the stadium costs and several other things. South America should certainly get a shot at hosting the olympics though, if not this time then in the future.

Out of the four cities, Rio by far would be able to put the most money into the Olympics due to the city always having surplus because of their city being a constant tourist destination. In the IOC report, Tokyo is putting up 3.7 billion, Chicago is putting up 3.8, Madrid is putting up 2.67, while Rio is would put in a whopping 11.1 billion dollars into the Games. They would easily be able to afford it if they are putting up more than half of what the others are bidding.
