Glenn Beck: We're Winning Against Race based Hate and Fear Mongering

Glenn BeckGlenn Beck is a dangerous man, nothing but a sociopath who's given way too much power with his platform on the conservative right-wing propaganda machine called FOX News. Fortunately, thanks to people like you colorofchange.org managed over 200,000 signatures on a petition that finally forced over 60 advertisers to pull their ads from Glenn Beck's show. Now he's mad and in true hissy-fit form Glenn's showing he's only a vindictive man on a witch-hunt that's totally personal and has nothing to do with facts, telling the truth or honesty in news. He's not even a reporter or investigative journalist, he's just another psychotic entertainer with twisted, hateful views who's intent is to divide and destroy America simply for sport - because he can.

Television has way to much power over people minds and FOX News alone has done a great job at dumbing people down. It takes time and energy most people aren't willing to spend to get to the truth. Which means turning the tv off, putting down the Victoria's Secret magazine or staying home on a Saturday night to learn about the world you live in and begin using your mind for critical thinking. We have entered into a time a great and rapid change, people need to wake-up and listen to that voice within or they may get swept behind.

Right-wing talk show hosts have been bringing ignorance and race-based fear mongering into the mainstream, but FOX's Glenn Beck has taken it to another level. The new mainstream in radio is progressive talk news and seems to be the only readily accessible form of straight forward information left on the airwaves. Try listening to Ron Reagan, Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy, Thom Hartman, Stephanie Miller and Richard Green as they tackle the issues confronting us all in an honest, intelligent fashion that is quite refreshing and is actually a fun way to learn what's going on in our ever changing world.

I heard of the movement to stop Beck on the Mike Malloy show. I followed-up and took action by signing ColorOfChange.org's petition to stop Glenn Beck's lies and distortions. So far, 62 major companies have stopped their ads from running on his show. These companies have decided they don't want to be associated with Beck's race-baiting.

But Beck is only stepping up his fear-mongering, so we can't stop now. We have to step-it up and make sure advertisers keep leaving, and stay away from his show. Will you take a stand and be counted, and invite your friends and family to do the same? It takes just a moment:

That statement fits into a pattern of rhetoric from Beck designed to stoke racial paranoia and fear amongst the misinformed and uneducated segments of society. He has claimed that President Obama has a "reparation appetite" and a desire to use his policies to settle old racial scores. Beck's overall plan is to create an atmosphere in which the White House can accomplish nothing, and he's carrying it out by preying on race-based fears and mobilizing hate. Beck consistently relies on dishonesty, distortion and exaggeration, and he is embarking on character assassinations of Obama administration officials with whom he disagrees.

FOX has a horrible track record on pushing racist propaganda, but Glenn Beck appears to be taking the network to the next level with an even lower standard. He's trying to divide and distract America when we should be coming together and talking about issues that really matter--like health care and the economy. Not polluting these issues with misinformation, distortion and fabricating lies.

The good news is that we have the power to stop this. Over 200,000 people have joined this campaign, and 62 advertisers have already stopped their ads from being run during Beck's show. Please help keep the momentum building.
