Riding for Renal

Denver : CO : USA | 2 months ago

Follow my "Riding for Renal" effort on LiveStrong (Lance Armstrong's health related website)!! I'll be promoting renal disease awareness as I train for and compete in the Triple Bypass cycling race, 120 miles from Evergreen to Avon (Vail) Colorado, over Squaw, Loveland, and Vail passes, reaching an elevation of nearly 12K feet, with over 10K feet vertical gain!

I'll be blogging my training and my health as I monitor how my renal recovery responds to the strenuous training for this event. I'm hoping that in doing so, I can help others who have had renal disease and desire to take up a rigorous athletic program. I'll also be offering renal disease prevention tips along the way... for MOST renal disease can be prevented, and diet and exercise are key in this.
